This is It!!!

Today is the last full day with our students. I can't beleive this year is over already. (I think we always say that). The year really has gone quickly. I always thought my days at school went quickly, so I knew the year would wrap up the same way. I am so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful, welcoming staff at Pleasant Hill. They all been so wonderful to me an I have made some great friends. I have enjoyed the new challange of elementary school and all that comes with it. Much different fom middle school! I will miss the 6th graders I had that move onto middle school next year, but am excited to see the new kindergartners that will come.

Since school is officially ending, it is now time to begin the summer "to do" lists. I will be working in the nutrition club at least 2 days a week. The rest of the week will surely be spent at the pool. OK-"to-do" list done!!!  No really- I will have plenty to do around home this summer and lots of time for family stuff. We will make our usual 4-5 times visits to World and Oceans of Fun, a few road trips-but that is about it. I am looking forward to hitting the gym harder over the summer and continuing my journey to loose weight, which is a daily battle for me, but I have been inspired to "do it for myself"!

Jim and the girls will wrap up the school year next Tuesday and Wednesday. That givs me 2 days to get a head start on things!!  They are all ready to be done too-really Katy would stay in school year round if she could!! I love that Jim and I both teach so we can spend the summers together as a family.

Next time I post, it will officially be summer break!!!  Off to the next to last day of school!

The Countdown is On!!

13 days of school left! In 3 Sunday's I will be preparing myself for the final week of school. It seems since spring break, the time has flown by. I remember this time last year....I wasn't sure what the following year had in store for me, but I must say I am as happy as ever. I know..all those that said "You'll be so happy this time next year"...well, I really wanted to slap each one of you, but now I can say you were right!! I am really going to miss seeing my co-workers over the summer. Guess we will have to have some "Collaborations" over break!

On another note. I am a complete sucker for the Royal Wedding stuff. I cannot seem to get enough of the highlights. Yes, I was up at 4am to watch it live. Plus I re-watched it when I got home that day! Something about the pagentry of it all.....or maybe my wishes of being an ordinary "commidor" meeting a Prince and having a fairy tale wedding!!! Oh wait- I have my prince and had the fairy tale wedding...in the Royal town of Great Bend!! Really, it was a fairy tale to me, but still, the thrill of all the "princess" stuff is way cool!!

We attended the KU Spring game over the weekend. It was so fun to be back at the stadium. It is a place we spend every Saturnday in the Fall and love it so much! It was beautiful outside and we had a great time. We plan to travel to several out of town games this Fall and even score a seat in a suite at Oklahoma State University in October (hopefully!) The itch for football season is upon us, but we can wait as that only means another school year will have began. That can take it's time right now!

Well, it's off to pack backpacks and lunches, set out clothes for the week and mentally prepare. My calendar looks like a rainbow the next three weeks with school meetings highlighted in blue, IEP"S in yellow, Katy's things in purple, Keely's things in pink, Jim's things in green and mine, well, in pencil cause they often get erased as I have to rearrange to accomodate all the above!!!

Happy Easter!

What a beautiful day it has turned out to be.  I was worried we would be stuck inside for Easter, but mother nature wouldn't have it. Such a nice way to end such a glorious weekend celebrating Jesus.

Katy wondering what she will catch...could it be clothes, school things, an old shoe or money??
Keely's turn..is it going to be hair bows, lip gloss, On the Go Applesauce or money??
Look what the final thing was they caught.........Big Daddy Wags!!

A tradition my parents began with the grandkids many years ago was a fishing pond. The "old school" kind where you throw a stick (pole) over a tarp, sheet, wall (whatever) and catch a "fish" This year since my nephew as unable to attend, mom and dad didn't want to do it without him, but since it was a tradition, our girls flt they stll needed to have it. So, Jim as the "Big Daddy Fish" would "hook" an item onto the girls poles. Again, they had a blast!! We asked Katy if she will still be asking for the Fishing Pond when she is in middle and high school.........she said YES!!!!

Happy Easter from the Wagner's!
